Yesterday I got to spend some time with Annie and Jordenne! It was a shoot devoted to the fun and friendship shared by these two girls. They are the best of friends and are so sweet and fun!

Family Portraits - Holmen, WI

Tonight I'd like to introduce the Ankarlo family. They are close family friends and I was excited when they scheduled a fall photo shoot. Barb was diagnosed with breast cancer last spring and has undergone surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. She is a physician at the Cumberland Medical Clinic and was recently named Physician of the Year in the state of Wisconsin! I feel these photos not only capture her journey, but most importantly the resilience of her and her family. Here are my favorites...

Happy First Year in Business to Me!

Happy New Year! January 25 will mark the one year anniversary of my Portraits by Hilary Facebook page. I am beyond thrilled with how my first year in business has been. The support I have continued to receive from my family, friends and clients has been so wonderful. I feel so lucky to be surrounded with such positive support and praise.  It was a lot of fun to getting to know my seniors and hearing the plans for their futures. The family members that came along on their sessions were always so helpful and kind. The family sessions I have had were also very special. Many of them were my actual family; cousins mostly. I treasured the time I got to spend with them through capturing their families. I also had a few sessions that were just for fun. Lauren, Ashley, Azia, Tara, Dani & Jordyn made perfect models for more relaxed, styled shoots.

One of my pictures was featured as Lemonade and Lenses weekly favorite. I received an honorable mention at the La Crosse Oktoberfest Photography Competition. I was also honored with being the runner - up in a Senior photography contest with The Shoppe Designs!

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for entrusting me to capture your special moments and for all the business referrals! I'm excited to see what 2013 will bring with my second year in business.

Dani & Finn - Holmen, WI

Dani  is a natural in front of the camera and also one of my dearest friends! This combination made this session a lot of fun! She recently moved back from Austin, Texas. While she was there she picked up a new furry friend, Finnigan!  Capturing the bond between dog and owner is so special. I loved this session. Here are my favorites...

Fall Favorites!

Today marks the first official day of winter!  This is also a perfect day to share my fall favorites. I photographed three of my dearest friends, a few wonderful families, one beautiful senior and as with every season I like to photograph a little nature as well.
